Job Description Positions: Segment Producer, Live Programming – Your Morning - Bell Media Job Status: Temporary- Part Time - Casual Location: 299 Queen St West - TorontoSalary: (Commensurate with qualifications and experience) - Unifor 723M (Group E)Hours of Work: Freelance work, as needed. Shift work is involved, some shifts begin as early as 3amResponsibilities Looking for Freelance TV producers with a strong background in news and current affairs, including Canadian and international news, health, business, politics, entertainment, trends and pop culture Produce engaging, creative, informative and entertaining interviews, demos and segments for show and social media channels Chase and book the strongest guests Source the best video, images, and audio to support segments or to creatively tell stories Prepare thorough research support for the show hosts on a wide variety of subjects Write engaging and accurate scripts, segment intros and social media posts Create relationships with Canada’s diverse communities to make sure the show reflects Canada’s broad experience and reality Critical Qualifications One year proven experience as a segment producer Experience in daily news and feature production Strong editorial sensibility Proven ability to chase and book guests Exceptional communication skills – both oral and written Excellent organizational skills Experience working in a live environment Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while maintaining focus and composure Experience writing excellent broadcast scripts and social media or digital copy Strong research skills Excellent sense of how to use video and audio to strengthen story-telling skills and news coverage Ability to work well in a team and be self-motivated. A positive attitude is a must Available to work early mornings and shift work Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
