Job summary
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Accurately & efficiently receive and put away inbound material * Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment * Operate, navigate and drive all company forklifts * Maintain a visual inbound freight schedule * Co-ordinate the off-loading of inbound freight * Read work orders or receive oral instructions for work assignments * Continually update company software of any bin or overflow location changes * Maintain a clean and organized workspace through the entire warehouse * Provide on the job training to new/junior receiving team members as required * Assist staff members in the research and locating of product in the warehouse * Provide information for the completion of incident reports in relation to health and safety issues * Ensure efficient space utilization in stocking goods * Provide extra care in handling fragile china/porcelain products * Other duties as assigned SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES * Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written and an ability to impart knowledge. * Good organization skills Attention to detail. * Experience using computer systems. * Accuracy in picking and shipping orders * Organized team player with a strong aptitude to performing tasks accurately * Punctual, efficient and professional * Be able to work in a fast-paced environment * Proven ability to work under time constraints and deadlines * Able to lift at least 50 pounds * Solid basic computer skills EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION * High school diploma or equivalent required * Valid Forklift ticket * Previous warehouse experience will be considered an asset * Experience in a fast-paced environment an asset * Previous plumbing and/or electrical industry experience will be considered an asset WHY WORK FOR US * Company paid benefits * Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) * RRSP match * Paid sick days * Career growth * #GIVEBACK Program – Volunteer Day * Personal Milestone Recognition Program * Employee Referral Bonus Program * Employee discounts on plumbing, electrical and heating products OUR MISSION Providing the right solutions at the right time with our expert customer care.
