For more than 100 years, BGC Ottawa (formerly the Boys & Girls Club of Ottawa) has been opening doors of opportunity for children and youth across our city. Every year, thousands of young people ages 6 to 18 participate in our free programs, finding safe spaces to belong, caring mentors to guide them and opportunities to learn, grow and lead. Through four Clubhouses located in neighbourhoods that need us most, BGC Ottawa provides safe spaces, life-changing programs, healthy snacks and meals, and mentorship during critical after-school and evening hours. Our work is guided by four pillars: Education, Physical Activity & Healthy Lifestyle, Leadership & Social Skills and Creative Arts. From helping a child build confidence in the classroom to supporting a teen as they develop leadership skills and prepare for the future, our programs create lasting impact for children and youth, families and communities across Ottawa. We also operate Camp Smitty, our overnight summer camp located in Eganville, where children and youth experience adventure, friendship and personal growth in a supportive outdoor environment.
