You will be responsible for accounting and reporting for these clients within BGO’s Investment management responsibilities. The position also works with the Investment Management Group (financial analysts, valuations, asset/portfolio managers) and other teams in an effort to meet all reporting requirements. This is a hybrid position located in Toronto, ON What You Will Do: * Reporting * Prepare monthly fund and property level financial reports - property income summary with variance analysis of income and expenses, accounts receivable summary with explanation of material arrears, review of property balance sheet for backup and reasonability, accumulation of leasing schedules / expiry reports, intercompany reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation * Prepare quarterly fund level financial reports — including all schedules, analysis of balance sheet, property market values fund level income, capital variance analysis as well as key leasing statistics * Quarterly mortgage continuity schedule and leasing schedules (lease rollover, lease expiry, vacancy) * Process invoices, bank deposits, prepare bank transfers and entries * Prepare monthly HST / QST returns for filing and process payments. * Process monthly / quarterly distributions to clients * Calculate quarterly true-up adjustment for Asset Management Fee * Calculate, retrieve, analyze and communicate key financial metrics (IRR, TWRR, NAV, etc.) * Upload quarterly information to MSCI and compare returns to internally calculated IPD returns * Budgeting/Audits * Maintain fund level ledgers - balance sheet reconciliations and monthly accruals * Assist with the budgeting process including review property budget submission for reasonability and accuracy, including validating and inputting 3rd party managed property budgets * Assist with the year-end financial audits * Administration * Assist in building and automating Excel templates * Other duties as well as ad hoc reporting / projects as specified by separately managed account clients and / or management Who You Are: Key Qualifications: * Education – Working towards or completed a recognized accounting designation. * Experience – A strong track record of success with minimum three to four years of experience in accounting functions. * Relationship Skills – Well developed written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills; ability to develop and sustain strong working relationships with senior business leaders; ability to exercise strict confidentiality; place priority on client service. * Analytical Skills – Quick learner with strong analytic and problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail; filtering information based on priority, relevance & other critical factors. * Organizational/Multi-Task Skills – Ability to allocate one's time effectively, work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and maintain accuracy of work; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities; ability to adapt to new ideas and constant changes; ability to take initiative and be a self-starter; ability to work resourcefully and independently with minimal direction and respond effectively to issues that arise. * Decision Making Skills – Identify and analyze problems for reference to manager on non-routine issues; resolve issues in a timely manner. * Computer Skills – Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Power Point.
