Working closely with brokers, service teams, and insurance company partners, you'll help drive profitable growth while ensuring exceptional client outcomes and strong underwriting discipline Key Responsibilities Underwriting Leadership Provide underwriting guidance and technical support to brokers and service staff Review referrals and assist with complex underwriting decisions Ensure business is placed appropriately based on carrier appetite and underwriting guidelines Maintain underwriting quality standards across the brokerage Monitor policy quality and identify trends affecting profitability Carrier Relationships Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance company underwriters Participate in regular carrier meetings Stay informed on underwriting guideline changes and communicate updates to the team Assist with market selection strategies and placement opportunities Advocate for brokers when negotiating exceptions with carrier partners Team Leadership Lead, coach, and mentor the underwriting and service team Support onboarding and ongoing training Conduct performance reviews and provide regular coaching Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture Operations Keep only the operational responsibilities that naturally fit underwriting. Monitor renewal workflow Ensure timely handling of referrals Oversee quality assurance processes Assist with download management and underwriting workflows Support automation initiatives Improve underwriting efficiency We are looking for Minimum 5+ years of Personal Lines insurance experience Previous leadership experience within a brokerage or insurance company Strong underwriting knowledge across Auto, Property, Recreational and Specialty products Excellent understanding of carrier underwriting guidelines Experience working with multiple insurance markets Strong broker coaching and mentoring skills RIBO Licence in good standing CIP designation considered a strong asset Excellent communication and negotiation skills Experience using Power Broker (or similar BMS) Why Join Us?
