THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking a Physician to join our medical team on a part-time employed basis, working on site at our Toronto clinical unit. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, you will provide direct medical oversight of study participants across an active portfolio of early-phase protocols. This is a salaried employed position. There is no billing, no overhead, no patient roster and no after-hours call. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Conduct screening histories and physical examinations, and determine participant eligibility against protocol criteria • Provide medical coverage during dosing and confinement periods, including real-time assessment and management of adverse events • Review ECGs, laboratory results and vital signs, and act on clinically significant findings • Assess seriousness, severity, causality and expectedness of adverse events, and support safety reporting • Evaluate protocol deviations and contribute to their documentation and resolution • Perform sub-investigator duties in accordance with ICH-GCP, Health Canada Division 5 and the applicable protocol • Support the Principal Investigator with medical review of study data and clinical study reports QUALIFICATIONS Required: • MD or equivalent, with a certificate of registration authorizing independent practice from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) • Current ACLS certification, or willingness to obtain it before start date • Strong ECG interpretation skills and comfort managing acute clinical events • Sound, defensible clinical judgment and clear documentation practices • Professional liability protection (CMPA) in good standing Considered an asset: • Previous experience as an investigator or sub-investigator in clinical trials • ICH-GCP certification • Emergency medicine, internal medicine or critical care background Prior clinical research experience is not required. We provide full GCP, protocol and investigator qualification training, along with structured onboarding within the medical team. Requirements
