Through our vision to eliminate poverty in our community, and guided by a passionate concern for the dignity and well being of each individual, Bissell Centre’s work is based on building relationships, hope, and trust. Our mission is to work with others to empower people to move from poverty to prosperity. We enable people to meet their own basic daily needs, participate in community, have sustainable livelihoods, feel hope for the future, and make plans for a better life. Poverty and homelessness are complex problems and exist for many reasons. Bissell Centre offers a wide range of services with the goal of ending poverty and homelessness at its roots.

Oversee financial stewardship, accounting compliance, facilities, procurement, and risk management, including management of an approximately $20 million annual operating budget. Advise executive leadership and the Board’s Finance, Audit and Risk Management Committee, and lead the organization’s enterprise risk framework and operational oversight across its sites.

Manage a portfolio of individual and select corporate donors, guiding relationships through identification, cultivation, solicitation, recognition, and stewardship. Develop tailored giving strategies, directly solicit and close significant gifts, and contribute to capital campaigns and strategic or planned giving initiatives.
