Currently, Bissell Centre is looking for a Director, Finance & Operations to join our dedicated Administration team as we journey with the Community towards an elimination of poverty. Reporting to the Co-CEO, the Director, Finance & Operations is a key member of the leadership team, overseeing Bissell Centre’s financial stewardship, operational infrastructure, facilities, and risk management. This role provides strategic oversight for an annual operating budget of approximately $20M, ensuring fiscal integrity, compliance, operational excellence, and environmental sustainability across all sites. Executive & Board Advisory: Partner directly with the Executive Team and the Finance, Audit and Risk Management (FARM) Committee on strategic objectives, trend evaluation, and policy recommendations. Lead financial agenda items at quarterly FARM Committee meetings, coordinate external auditor selection, and serve on call for Board meetings as required. Accounting Integrity & Compliance: Provide overall fiscal stewardship for an annual operating budget of approximately $20M. Ensure all transactions, journal entries, accounts, and financial statements fully comply with Board policies, funder/donor designations, legal requirements, GAAP, and Accounting Standards for Not-for-Profit Organizations (ASNPO). Site & Equipment Maintenance: Oversee operations, physical safety, and preventative maintenance across all owned and leased sites, including Moonlight Bay Camp at Wabamun Lake. Ensure machinery, electrical/mechanical systems, and vehicles meet health and safety standards through regular building inspections. Vendor & Contract Management: Oversee agency-wide procurement to drive cost savings. Negotiate vendor contracts, manage contractor relationships and project deadlines, and cultivate local supplier partnerships to secure discounts or donations. Enterprise Risk Management: Act as custodian of the organizational risk register and lead the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework development and maintenance with leadership. What You’ll Bring? CPA Designation University Degree in a related field Degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in a senior management role. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Experience in a similar position in program planning, development, case management and evaluation and supervisory skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills; and Ability to self-manage, assign and supervise accounting tasks, and work in a collaborative environment. Why Choose Bissell Centre? Requirements

Requires a CPA designation, a university degree in a related field, and at least three years of senior management experience; an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Candidates should bring relevant program planning, development, case management, evaluation, and supervisory experience, along with strong communication, accounting oversight, self-management, and collaboration skills.
