Senior Accounting Specialist Location: Hamilton, Ontario (Hybrid) Our Client Our client is a growing organization seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple legal entities. This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong bookkeeping, reconciliation, and Excel skills. Responsibilities Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across multiple legal entities Process a high volume of daily accounting transactions while ensuring accuracy and proper segregation of records Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including: Accounts receivable Bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations Vendor reconciliations Related-party reconciliations Journal entries and general ledger maintenance Support month-end and year-end closing processes across multiple entities Prepare and review intercompany transactions and reconciliations Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations Assist with financial reporting and internal management reports Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors as required Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff Respond to finance-related inquiries from internal stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience Professional accounting designation or progress toward one is an asset Experience supporting multiple legal entities Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations Hands-on full-cycle bookkeeping experience Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, Pivot Tables, and Macros Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines The Ideal Candidate Highly detail-oriented and committed to accuracy Takes ownership and accountability for their work Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with others Comfortable managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills Maintains a high level of confidentiality and integrity Proactive and interested in improving accounting processes and efficiencies REF#LI 1775
