Black & McDonald Limited is actively seeking an HVAC Journeyman Mechanic for our Facility Services Division to maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment within our contract to achieve optimum life span of equipment. The individual would be required to join or be a member of local 787 Refrigeration and Air Conditioning UA. Duties & Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To Perform routine predictive planned maintenance duties and log readings outlined by CMMS schedule. Complete work orders, deficiency reports and field quotations for Additional Work Requests, estimate in a timely manner. Assemble and install refrigeration and air conditioning components. Installing, troubleshooting, and overhauling entire heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Testing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems for leaks. Repairing and replacing components for entire heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. Reading and interpreting blueprints. Responds to environment/comfort complaints in-suite. Starting up and shutting down major building equipment seasonally. Handle, recover and store refrigerants. Test and repair electronic components. Other duties as required. Competency Requirements Communicates Effectively Customer Focus Problem Solving and Innovation Teamwork and Collaboration Values and Respects Others Skills, Abilities, And Other Requirements Must possess a valid 313A refrigeration certificate. 3 or more years’ experience as a Journeyman HVAC Technician. Valid G1 Certification. Valid Ozone Depletion Prevention Certificate (ODP). Oil Burner Technician Certificate would be considered an asset. Valid ‘G’ Driver’s license. Experience with BAS systems. Knowledge of a variety of electronic, pneumatic and DDC control systems considered an asset. Ability to read and work from Mechanical / Electrical drawings, HVAC/R schematics, line drawings, etc. Always maintain a professional demeanor with fellow employees and clients. A team player, committed to working in a quality environment. Available and willing to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays as required. Ability to work in confined spaces and work on a ladder or scaffold at various heights. This position’s wage rate follows the 787 Union Agreement schedule.
