The Project Coordinator is located on site and typically reports directly to the Project Manager. Project Coordinators support the Project Manager in the successful planning, organization, direction, control and evaluation of assigned project(s) from start to finish and in accordance with schedule, specifications and budget. Their primary focus is safety, planning, monitoring progress, scheduling, quality, cost management, estimating, reporting, and managing project change under the direction of senior leadership. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist the Project Manager on projects to ensure project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are in accordance with company policy and contract specifications are met Assist the Project Manager on field reports to ensure the reports are submitted to the Clients on time and invoices are processed on a monthly basis Comply with all company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures Assist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress against established timelines Complete quantity take-offs from construction drawings, track and update as-built quantities and field verify when required Assist in preparing contracts and negotiating revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors Assist with project cost tracking, forecasting, budget analysis and evaluation of project changes and their impacts Assist in developing and implementing quality control programs Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients Coordinate trades and subcontractors Document control Purchase supplies and materials as required to complete projects WHAT YOU CAN OFFER Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Electrical Engineering 3-5 years of Project Coordination experience supporting utility construction projects Experience working on Overhead and/or underground electrical distribution projects is preferred SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS Contract management and administration Construction scheduling, planning, and execution Blueprint and drawing interpretation Ability to read and interpret electrical, civil and construction drawings and specifications. Ability to understand financial reports, budgets, forecasts and cost tracking metrics Strong organizational and time management skills Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project) Experience with JD Edwards or an Oracle-based ERP system is considered an asset. Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment Valid Ontario “G” Driver’s License is required The expected salary range for this role is between $60,000 - $80,000 per year. The starting salary will be determined based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Base pay is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package.
