Role Description The Event Security Supervisor is a part-time, on-site role based in Vancouver, BC, responsible for overseeing security operations at events of varying size and complexity. This position coordinates and supervises security personnel, ensures that posts are staffed, and monitors adherence to site-specific procedures and client requirements. The supervisor conducts pre-event briefings, assigns duties, and supports team members in managing access control, crowd monitoring, and incident response. During events, the role includes conducting patrols, identifying and mitigating safety risks, documenting occurrences, and communicating with clients and venue management. The Event Security Supervisor also ensures compliance with company policies, completes incident and shift reports, and provides feedback to management to improve future event security planning. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong leadership and team supervision skills, including the ability to motivate staff, delegate tasks effectively, and manage performance during high-activity periods. Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients, guests, venue staff, and security team members, including clear verbal reporting and concise written documentation. Candidates should possess solid situational awareness and problem-solving skills to identify risks, make sound decisions under pressure, and respond calmly to incidents or emergencies. Candidates should possess knowledge of basic security practices and crowd management, including access control, conflict de-escalation, and adherence to safety protocols and local regulations. Candidates should possess strong organizational and time-management skills to coordinate schedules, manage event logistics, and ensure timely completion of reports and incident documentation. Previous experience in security, event management, law enforcement, or a related field is beneficial. Valid security license or ability to obtain one in accordance with BC regulations is required. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, work evenings and weekends as needed, and adapt to changing event environments. Training in first aid, CPR, and non-violent crisis intervention is an asset.
