Job summary

We are seeking an experienced, analytical, and tech-savvy Associate, Investments to support the CEO/Principal’s Investment Office across fund commitments, direct private investments, public markets, and real estate. This is a principal-facing role for an investment professional who wants broader exposure than a traditional financial-services role, with meaningful involvement in diligence, portfolio monitoring, reporting, and investment decision support. Key Responsibilities Conduct diligence on prospective fund commitments and direct private investments, including commercial, financial, operational, and structural analysis. Prepare concise investment memos and recommendations for the CEO/Principal. Monitor fund and direct-investment holdings, including capital calls, distributions, valuation updates, manager reporting, performance, and key portfolio developments. Evaluate private investment opportunities by reviewing markets, financial models, cap tables, transaction terms, and exit potential. Maintain a structured deal-flow and pipeline process; support relationships with fund managers, founders, co-investors, advisors, and intermediaries. Prepare clear portfolio reporting across asset classes and geographies. Review fund and transaction documentation, including LPAs, side letters, subscription agreements, and term sheets; flag legal, tax, compliance, and structural considerations in coordination with external advisors. Use AI-enabled research, data extraction, workflow automation, and analytics tools to improve sourcing, diligence, reporting, and portfolio monitoring. Requirements 5+ years of relevant investment experience; 7+ years is preferred for candidates expected to operate with greater autonomy. Experience in private wealth, investment advisory, asset management, fund-of-funds or allocator investing, VC/PE, investment banking, family office investing, or another analytical investment role. Demonstrated exposure to fund diligence, manager evaluation, fund documentation, private investment analysis, or portfolio monitoring. Strong financial modeling, valuation, analytical, and diligence skills. Excellent written communication skills, including investment memos, portfolio updates, and executive-level summaries. Professional maturity, discretion, integrity, and sound judgment in a confidential principal-facing environment. Strong fluency with AI-enabled research, data extraction, workflow automation, and productivity tools. Able to work on-site in Concord, Ontario; eligible to work in Canada. Preferred Assets CFA, CIM, CAIA, or another relevant investment designation is a strong asset. Current or previous AAR/AR registration, or eligibility to become registered if required, is also a strong asset. Experience evaluating technology-driven private-market opportunities across software, cybersecurity, defense and security technology, interactive entertainment, iGaming, and adjacent technology verticals. Familiarity with institutional fund managers, venture-capital, and private-markets ecosystems in North America and other relevant markets.
