Job summary
JOB PURPOSE To manage a portfolio of some of Book Depot’s smaller to mid-size existing clients by acting like a strategic partner and providing an exceptional, frontline customer experience, with the goal of growing market share and selling products at high margins. ***Annual salary range is between $51,000 to $68,700, plus commission based on sales performance. Strategic: Key measurables or activity-based leading indicators that the job is accountable for includes: Monthly and annual sales targets for primarily our mid-size existing clients (orders of $5k-$250k) Weekly analysis and projections on sales revenue for the upcoming 4-week period and how combined they are tracking towards targets (by account) Sales dashboard that provides real-time sales data (by portfolio and individual accounts) Realtime sales data on pending/shipped sales and how combined they are tracking towards targets (by account) Collaborate with peers to share industry, client news and share best practices Quarterly EOS Rocks Personal development goals through Catalytic Coaching and 5-5-5’s In addition to the strategic purpose of the role outlined above, you will: Promote products and services Close sales by means of excellent customer service, sales skills, and a deep understanding of the industry and client’s business strategy, with the help of an established sales process Build on and gain deeper knowledge and rapport with clients to increase sales Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales goals Build and use industry-leading sales tools (SRWMS) Study new arrivals and maintain a high level of product knowledge Accountable to maximize sales/margins Build industry knowledge and expertise within international shipping requirements, and keep apprised of any changes Provide mentorship to others on leading the Wholesale Sales team’s largest and most complex accounts Functional: Maintain positive business and customer relationships to prolong customer lifetime value Prioritize and/or escalate client questions and concerns to increase client satisfaction Track personal appointments, status reports, and sales Provide weekly sales reports/updates to Sales Director Coordinate and implement lean aspects on orders with the production team Coordinate and assist debt collections with the finance team Travel to meet with clients, and provide frontline support Attend national and international trade shows Provide product highlights to other sales reps Provide advice & guidance to other sales reps on sales approaches and presentations Other responsibilities as required People and Culture: Model Book Depot’s values in all that you do and hold others accountable in maintaining the integrity of them Enable Book Depot’s purpose-driven culture of Enchanting the Mind, that is values-aligned, family friendly, high-performing and innovative; and recognize team members who are consistently contributing to this culture Ensure everyone is pulling together in the same direction and that you are prioritizing departmental and individual goals Champion, influence, embrace and motivate change, with a strategic mindset for continuous improvement and scalability Actively empower the learning and professional growth of your team through encouraging your team’s participation in Book Depot University (BDU), and also being a participant Provide mentorship and meaningful feedback to your team QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field or equivalent training and experience required Minimum 2 years’ experience in sales Self-motivated, results-driven, and can work with minimal supervision Excellent written and verbal communication skills across multiple audiences An overachiever and natural problem solver.
