Why Join BoomerangFX? BoomerangFX is redefining how private-pay healthcare practices operate and grow. Recognized through Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 program as one of North America’s fastest-growing technology companies, BFX brings together practice management software, digital marketing, and AI-powered solutions to help healthcare providers build stronger, more profitable businesses. With offices across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and India, we are building a global healthcare technology company with an ambitious vision: to become the AI operating system and growth infrastructure for private-pay healthcare. Our next phase requires strong financial controls, reliable reporting, and disciplined execution. As Senior Controller, you will take ownership of the accounting function, lead the finance team’s day-to-day activities, and ensure our financial operations keep pace with our growth. We are looking for a hands-on CPA with deep QuickBooks Online expertise, direct payroll experience with ADP and Ceridian, and a proven record of overseeing a finance department in a high-growth SaaS or technology-enabled business. Your Role in a Nutshell You will own the full accounting cycle, from daily financial operations through month-end close, multi-entity consolidations, and management reporting. This role requires someone who can lead a team while personally working through journal entries, reconciliations, payroll issues, intercompany balances, and financial statements. You will be accountable for accurate books, timely closes, effective controls, and reliable financial information. You must bring at least seven years of experience overseeing a finance department in high-growth SaaS or technology-enabled companies, with verifiable evidence of your responsibilities and results. What You Will Do Full-Cycle Accounting and Month-End Close Own the complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process across entities. Establish and maintain a close calendar with clear deadlines, responsibilities, and review procedures. Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, deferred revenue, fixed assets, and other supporting schedules. Ensure bank, credit card, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time. Investigate discrepancies, resolve outstanding items, and maintain complete supporting documentation. Prepare financial statements and explain material movements and variances. Coordinate year-end working papers and respond to external accountant and auditor requests. QuickBooks Online and Accounting Systems Serve as the internal lead for QuickBooks Online, maintaining accurate records and consistent accounting practices. Manage the chart of accounts, reporting structure, bank feeds, reconciliations, and transaction coding. Oversee integrations with billing, payroll, payment, and expense systems, ensuring data flows accurately into the general ledger. Resolve system and data issues, eliminate duplicate or incorrect entries, and improve reporting reliability. Strengthen accounting workflows and automate repetitive tasks while maintaining appropriate review controls. Consolidations and Intercompany Accounting Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements across multiple entities. Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, allocations, and elimination entries. Oversee foreign-currency accounting and translation for consolidated reporting. Ensure consistent accounting policies and reporting periods across entities. Maintain clear consolidation schedules and an auditable trail from entity-level accounts to consolidated results. Payroll Oversight — ADP and Ceridian Oversee and support hands-on payroll processing using ADP and Ceridian. Verify payroll inputs, including new hires, departures, salary changes, commissions, bonuses, benefits, and deductions. Ensure payroll is accurate, approved, and completed on schedule. Reconcile payroll registers, funding, remittances, benefits, and payroll liabilities to the general ledger. Coordinate with HR and payroll providers to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate employee records. Oversee applicable payroll filings and year-end reporting, working with external specialists where required. Financial Operations and Controls Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and payment processing. Maintain visibility into cash balances, upcoming obligations, and collection priorities. Ensure appropriate revenue recognition for software subscriptions and service arrangements. Maintain deferred revenue schedules and reconcile billing records to accounting results. Strengthen approval procedures, access controls, segregation of duties, and financial documentation. Coordinate tax filings, statutory remittances, and other accounting obligations with external advisers. Team Leadership and Reporting Lead the finance department’s daily workflow, setting priorities and ensuring accountability for accuracy and deadlines. Coach team members, review their work, and provide hands-on support when needed. Deliver reliable financial information for budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and board reporting. Analyze actual results against budget and flag unusual trends, control weaknesses, or emerging financial risks. Improve close timelines, reporting quality, and team productivity as the business grows. What We’re Looking For Mandatory Qualifications CPA designation in good standing. At least seven years of experience overseeing a finance department in high-growth SaaS or technology-enabled companies. Advanced, hands-on QuickBooks Online expertise, including full-cycle accounting, reconciliations, reporting, and troubleshooting. Direct payroll processing and oversight experience with both ADP and Ceridian. Proven ownership of the complete month-end close process, from transaction accuracy and journal entries through reconciliations and final financial statements. Hands-on experience preparing multi-entity consolidations, including intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, and foreign-currency translation. Strong technical accounting knowledge, including recurring revenue, deferred revenue, accruals, and internal controls. Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and cash reporting. Advanced Excel skills, including working with large datasets and building reliable reconciliation and reporting schedules. Proven ability to supervise a finance team while remaining directly involved in the work. Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through. Candidates must be able to substantiate their experience through specific examples, measurable accomplishments, and professional references. Experience That Will Set You Apart Supporting international operations across multiple currencies and jurisdictions. Working in businesses that combine SaaS subscriptions with professional or marketing services. Reducing close times while improving accuracy and controls. Cleaning up complex reconciliations or strengthening accounting processes during rapid growth. Implementing accounting integrations, reporting automation, or AI-assisted workflows. Supporting audits, due diligence, or financing activities. How You Work You take personal ownership of accurate numbers and dependable deadlines. You are comfortable investigating discrepancies, resolving accounting problems, and ensuring issues are fully closed out. You bring structure to a fast-moving environment, communicate clearly, and build a team that delivers consistent results.
