Welcome to the Asset Management Department: The Asset Management department is a strategic player in maximizing the value and performance of our energy sites. It ensures rigorous, proactive asset management to optimize profitability, sustainability, and alignment with corporate goals. ⚡ You will play an important role in: Portfolio Management & Optimization: Oversee the long-term performance of wind energy assets, ensuring optimal operation, capital allocation, risk mitigation, and value maximization. Develop and implement asset management strategies to maximize long-term asset and portfolio value. Strategic Project Leadership: Lead strategic projects as assigned across asset lifecycle. Contribute to the development of new business opportunities, including M&A, capital recycling initiatives, expansion/dilution of partnerships, and additional lifecycle decisions. Contract & Stakeholder Management: Ensure compliance with all major contracts and forecast major & minor contract needs. Participate in and lead as required contract/agreement negotiations to support portfolio strategy and value-add opportunities. Include all relevant stakeholders in major decision processes including presenting/participating in relevant board and leadership meetings. Team Leadership: Lead team of Asset Managers assigned to support and execute all asset management department and strategic needs. Coach and develop team according to individual and portfolio management competency needs. Nurture an environment of strong collaboration, ownership, and cross-functional leadership. Risk & Compliance Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, contractual, environmental, safety, and regulatory risks. Ensure mitigation plans are executed and tracking at the site and portfolio level. Report on portfolio, risks, and mitigation plan progress on a regular basis. Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of asset management practices and systems, including contributing and implementing lessons learned. Integrate continuous improvement into day-to-day practices as well as longer term process/procedure development according to assigned projects or Project Management Office and Process Owner Needs. 💡 To succeed in this position, you need: Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field. Master’s degree (MBA or similar) considered a plus. CFA or equivalent certification considered a plus. Experience: 7+ years in Asset Management or equivalent experience; 5+ years working with Renewable Energy Assets or equivalent experience. Portfolio Management and strategy execution experience preferred. Experience working in the Quebec renewable energy ecosystem or energy leadership ecosystem Technical Knowledge: Budget and investment thesis management, financial analysis, managing and negotiating contracts to support a portfolio, and energy-related technical portfolio experience are ideal. Wind production technology and lifecycle management experience are ideal. Language and Communication: French and English required (fluent in written and spoken). Excellent executive communication and presentation skills. Ability to work in matrix organization, strong cross-functional leadership Solution-focused mindset and ability to drive solutions to close Strong problem-solving skills, data-based decision-making capabilities Ability to work in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to contribute to culture of collaboration and continuous improvement Ability to negotiate and/or mediate commercial topics to close Experience in interpreting and developing financial models, budgets, and forecasts for renewable energy assets. Requirements
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or engineering, with a master's degree or CFA certification considered an asset. The role requires over 7 years of experience in asset management, including at least 5 years in the renewable energy sector, alongside fluency in English and French.
