Wright Canada Holdings, Ltd. Job Summary: The Senior Manager, Safety and Risk Compliance will provide support to Wright Canada Holdings. This role will assist in evaluating and implementing Environment, Health and Safety programs, managing projects and building client relationships for Wright Tree Service of Canada and Spectrum Resource Group. This position is based in Calgary, AB. Responsibilities: Responsible for regulatory compliance in EHS matters in all Canadian jurisdictions. Provides technical leadership in management, maintenance, and oversight of company EHS programs. Provides direction and support to managers, supervisors and/or sub-contractors regarding responsibilities for maintaining a positive safety culture and compliance with our EHS programs. Works closely with Operations for the development of and compliance with the company EHS programs, including scheduling and execution of required audits (e.g. COR). Takes leadership role regarding incident investigations and development of action plans for incident prevention. Engages with field employees by making regular worksite visits and observations. Leads and supports EHS initiatives and projects, both internal and client initiated. Participates in industry organizations and governing bodies relating to Utility Vegetation Management (UVM). Other duties as assigned. Requirements: 5-10 years of EHS or safety management experience, preferably from the electric utility industry or vegetation management. Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field preferred but not required. Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong verbal communication, including in in=person and virtual presentation and training skills. Ability to perform data analysis and demonstrate strong technical writing skills. Knowledge of all applicable Occupational Health and Safety legislation, regulations and codes, including those related to UVM field. Must be certified as an auditor for a minimum of one Partnerships Certificate of Recognition (COR) program or have the ability to become certified in the first 90 days and maintain certification. Strong knowledge of applicable ANSI, CSA, or other standards relevant to Utility Vegetation Management. TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional (CTSP) or other EHS and Safety Related credentials preferred. Ability to identify issues, problem-solve and utilize critical thinking skills while working independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrates passion for continuous improvement. Ability to adapt in an ever-changing work environment. Ability to travel with short notice, amount dependent on business needs. Possess a current pesticide applicator certificate or have the ability to acquire and maintain a valid pesticide applicator certificate.
