Braemar Retirement Centre

Braemar Nursing Home, currently home to 51 residents, is a family owned and operated Long Term Care home located in Wingham Ontario. We strive to provide exceptional, person-centered, evidence-based care and services for our residents and their loved ones. Since 2020 Braemar has partnered with the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) and recently became a recognized Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO). The BPSO program is internationally renowned and designed to support organizational integration of evidence-based Best Practice Guidelines (BPG’s) into the care and services provided in the home. Additionally, we are the first DementiAbility certified home in southwestern Ontario. DementiAbility is an evidence-based model of care which, through a variety of harmonized approaches, is designed to create a positive, meaningful experience for those living with dementia that is based on their individual strengths, abilities and potential. Braemar’s success in the implementation of these programs has provided us the opportunity to participate and present in multiple forums, allowing us to be part of driving positive change in the Long Term Care Sector. Braemar aims to create an environment of engagement & empowerment, not only for the individuals living within our home, but also for those working within the home as part of our Braemar team. We take pride in creating a positive experience within our Braemar community through collaboration, engagement and utilization of evidence-based care practices.
