Job summary
The Financial Controller is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall financial stewardship and financial reporting of Bidgood's Wholesale Limited, a local family-owned supermarket based in Goulds, NL. Key Responsibilities You will oversee, lead and develop the finance team, including AP. You will also be directly responsible for the payroll function. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting ensuring accurate close processes and compliance with accounting standards. Oversees the IT function and the point-of-sales system Manage cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, credit facilities, and covenant/lender reporting. Coordinate corporate tax planning, GST/HST and payroll remittances, and CRA compliance with external advisors. Leadership Competencies The Financial Controller Must Demonstrate Financial acumen Analytical problem-solving Accountability and integrity Communication Qualifications Bachelor's Degree Business with a major in accounting. Ideally, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation. 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 2+ years in a senior finance role. Strong financial acumen, great interpersonal and team leadership skills.
