Inviting applications for the role of Single Store DBA TEDRA (Trade Enrichment Data Reporting & Allocations) is part of the Institutional Securities Technology (IST) Division. It is responsible for maintaining, distributing, and reporting on trading, revenue, risk, and reference data (client, product, and pricing). As the authoritative source of key data sets, we are at the forefront of database technology and are heavily involved in data engineering, data science, data visualization, and machine learning efforts across the Firm. Within TEDRA, the ADIM (Application Data Infrastructure and Messaging) Practice Area is responsible for systems and infrastructure that supports application OLTP databases, messaging systems like CPS & KAFKA for internal clients. The ADIM’s Reference Data Development Team is tasked with database engineering projects and strategic RDBMS/platform evaluations, including modernization and cloud adoption initiatives. The team is looking for talented data engineers to contribute to the development and evolution of core infrastructure components across large-scale database environments (several hundred databases), spanning Sybase, DB2, and modern data platforms such as Snowflake and SingleStore. The successful candidate must be passionate about data and have strong interest and experience with enterprise-scale RDBMS technologies, including real-time, highly accessed transactional databases, distributed/replicated data systems, and performance-critical platforms. This position offers an opportunity to participate in lively discussion on technical and business issues; therefore, strong communication skills and a willingness to express viewpoints—while actively listening to others—are vital. Responsibilities Database engineering and platform development across large database estates (Sybase/DB2 and newer platforms). Performance tuning and optimization (query optimization, indexing strategies, workload analysis, capacity planning). Design, testing, and implementation of database changes with a focus on resiliency and quality. Participation in platform migration initiatives (including modernization toward Snowflake and/or Single Store where applicable). Version upgrades, patching, and operational readiness improvements. Development and distribution on cloud platforms, including automation and standardization. Work in a fast-paced Agile environment where time-to-market is key without compromising stability and control. Required Skills Intermediate knowledge of development and performance optimization on major RDBMS technologies (e.g., Sybase, DB2; plus exposure/interest in Snowflake/SingleStore is a plus). Strong scripting skills, especially Python (automation, tooling, diagnostics, data utilities). Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Desired Skills Data modeling concepts (logical/physical modeling, normalization, dimensional modeling). Version control experience, preferably Git. Data replication concepts and technologies (CDC, transactional replication, streaming-based patterns). Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban) and CI/CD mindset for data/database delivery.
