Brightsmith are currently partnering with an innovative clean technology company developing a first-of-its-kind industrial process to support the circular economy and sustainable manufacturing. Following continued growth, investment and the successful progression of their demonstration programme, they are looking to appoint a Senior Process Engineer to join their expanding engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly collaborative start-up at a pivotal stage of growth. Reporting into the engineering leadership team, you will play a key technical role in the delivery and scale-up of their demonstration plant, supporting the progression of the technology towards commercial deployment. The role will suit a hands-on Process Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and wants to work closely with R&D, engineering and operations to take innovative process technology from pilot and demonstration scale into commercial operation. Responsibilities: Senior Process Engineer Lead and support process engineering activities across pilot, demonstration and future commercial-scale projects. Drive process scale-up, supporting the transition from demonstration plant through to commercial deployment. Develop and review key engineering documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, mass and energy balances, equipment datasheets, commissioning procedures and technical reports. Perform process design calculations and support equipment sizing, specification and selection. Provide technical input into process safety activities including HAZOPs and other engineering reviews. Work closely with mechanical, controls, R&D, operations and project teams to deliver engineering milestones. Support commissioning, start-up, troubleshooting and optimisation of process plant operations. Analyse operating and test data to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation. Support the development and implementation of engineering standards and best practices as the organisation grows. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to more junior engineers where required. Work with vendors, suppliers and external engineering partners to support equipment selection, procurement and project delivery. Experience Required: Senior Process Engineer Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or a related discipline. Strong process engineering experience within industrial manufacturing or complex process industries. Demonstrable experience supporting pilot, demonstration or first-of-a-kind technologies through scale-up towards commercial operation. Strong understanding of core process engineering deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, mass and energy balances, equipment specifications and commissioning documentation. Experience with process equipment sizing, specification and selection. Previous commissioning, plant start-up or operational troubleshooting experience. Experience participating in process safety reviews such as HAZOPs. Ability to independently deliver high-quality technical engineering work within a multidisciplinary environment. Strong technical report writing and communication skills. Comfortable working within a fast-paced, collaborative start-up environment where priorities can evolve quickly. Requirements

A degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline is required, along with strong process engineering experience in industrial manufacturing or complex process industries. Candidates should have experience scaling pilot or demonstration technologies, preparing core process deliverables, sizing equipment, supporting commissioning and troubleshooting, and participating in HAZOPs.
