HUMAN RESOURCES GENERALIST – 24-MONTH CONTRACT Location: Wingham, Ontario - in person role Salary: $65,000–$75,000 per year Position Type: Full-Time, 24-Month Contract JOIN OUR TEAM! We’re looking for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team for a 24-month contract and play an important role in supporting our employees, leaders and business. At Britespan, HR is highly connected to the day-to-day business. You’ll work closely with employees and leaders across the organization while gaining hands-on experience across the full HR spectrum. WHAT YOU'LL DO You’ll be involved in a broad range of HR activities, including: * Lead full-cycle recruitment, from job postings and interviews through to offers and employment contracts * Partner with leaders on hiring, onboarding and talent acquisition strategies * Serve as a trusted first point of contact for employees and leaders on HR-related questions and concerns * Support employee relations, performance management, attendance, accommodations and workplace issues * Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures and programs * Support compliance with employment legislation across the jurisdictions in which Britespan operates * Manage employee records and confidential HR information * Coordinate onboarding and help ensure new employees have a positive start * Support training and development initiatives, including mandatory compliance training * Manage WSIB claims, incident reporting and return-to-work processes * Support workplace accommodations and leave-of-absence processes * Participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee * Maintain HR systems, attendance records and HR-related reporting * Develop and track HR metrics and KPIs * Contribute to process improvements and HR projects that make our workplace more efficient and employee-focused * Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to a positive workplace culture WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR You’re someone who is organized, approachable, practical and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You know how to balance employee needs with business requirements and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and get things done. Ideally, you bring: * Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field * 2+ years of HR experience, preferably in a Generalist, Coordinator or Administrator role * Experience with recruitment and talent acquisition * Experience supporting employee relations and conflict resolution * Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Excellent organization and attention to detail * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills * The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently * A high level of confidentiality and professionalism * Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint * Experience with HRIS systems and/or Smartsheet is an asset * CHRP designation or working toward CHRP is an asset WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS OPPORTUNITY A role with variety.
