BCIT’s Physics Department is seeking one (1) regular, full-time (1.0 FTE) Faculty and one (1) regular, part-time (0.50 FTE) Faculty. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Physics Department teaches around 1000 students in 17 different technologies, many of which are related to engineering or healthcare. Candidates with significant experience teaching applied physics at the post-secondary level are encouraged to apply. QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Physics or a related field. Minimum of one year experience teaching applied physics at the post-secondary level with full responsibility over course delivery. Demonstrated excellence in both online and in-person teaching. Experience with Online Learning Management Systems such as Learning Hub, Moodle or Blackboard. Experience in curriculum design for both online and in-person courses. Demonstrated understanding of various learning styles, teaching strategies, and research informed education practices. Research or industry experience in an applied physics setting would be considered an asset. Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language. Demonstrated success working in a team environment. Applicants are requested to specifically address the above in a clear format in their submission. Successful applicants will be required to complete POLY 1005: Instructional Skills Workshop either prior to the beginning of classes or during the first term teaching at BCIT. SALARY: Salary Range: $69,006 - $120,460 per annum. Additional Salary Information: Salary prorated based on percentage and term of appointment. Salary based on education, experience and placement criteria as outlined in the Collective Agreement.
