Job Description: As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design, develop, and deliver mechanical assemblies, including full chassis design for ultra-high-performance and power electronic products. We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment and take pride in delivering high-quality products within small, highly experienced teams. Our cradle-to-grave lifecycle product development means ownership doesn't end at product shipment; you will also support customer trials, field issues, and product sustaining. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team of Hardware, ASIC, Signal, Mechanical, Thermal, Diagnostic, Packaging, and Manufacturing engineers, alongside partner engineering teams for joint development programs. Responsibilities Design rack-level and tray-level mechanical enclosures from concept to detailed design, encompassing look and feel, technology and component selection, tolerance and DFM analysis, documentation, and prototype builds. Ensure all designs comply with regulatory requirements and data center best practices. Partner with multidisciplinary teams to develop PCB designs, solve complex thermal and power delivery challenges, and incorporate advanced manufacturing technologies into cost-effective, production-level designs. Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and product qualification. Prepare engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and change orders. Key Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. 5+ years of experience in electronics packaging. Proficiency in PTC Creo and Windchill for 3D modeling, design, and data management. Experience with sheet metal, machining, die-casting, and plastic manufacturing techniques. Experience with designs for high-powered enclosures and devices. Experience with liquid cooling requirements and challenges. Proven collaboration with production shops and manufacturing teams to streamline processes, enhance quality control, and ensure smooth transitions from design to implementation. Understanding of relevant US, European, and Asian regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure safety and environmental compliance. Demonstrated lifecycle product ownership of complex products from inception to volume production. Experience working with cross-functional support groups, including Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Customer Support, Compliance, Safety, and Sustainability. Compensation and Benefits The annual base salary range for this position is CAD 76,300.00 To CAD 122,000.00 As a valued member of our team, you'll be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and the opportunity to receive not only a competitive new hire equity grant, but also annual equity awards, connecting your success directly to the company's growth. All subject to relevant plan documents and award agreements. Broadcom offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package: Medical, dental and vision plans, RRSP participation including company matching, Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP), Employee Assistance Program (EAP), company-paid holidays; and paid sick leave and vacation time. The company follows all applicable laws for leaves of absence. Broadcom is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
