Job details

Type: Full-time / Permanent Location: Toronto, ON Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 CAD annually Reports To: Chief Operating Officer COMPANY OVERVIEW 50,000 athletes. 20+ locations. Millions of views. Brodie League is more than a basketball league, it’s a community. As one of North America’s fastest-growing sports brands, Brodie League is redefining adult recreational basketball by delivering an elevated, professional-quality experience rooted in culture, competition, and community. Our mission is to make every league night the best night of the week for our athletes. ROLE OVERVIEW Brodie League is growing fast, and we're hiring District Managers to lead our league operations, based full-time at our Toronto HQ. This is one of the most demanding, and most impactful, roles at Brodie: you'll own the performance, consistency, and overall health of a multi-location district that can typically span multiple time zones (from Vancouver to Boston), not just a single city or province. This role is built for someone with a genuine entrepreneurial mindset: someone who builds systems from scratch rather than inheriting them, takes ownership without being asked, and is willing to put in the hours and travel it takes to get a new market or a struggling location back on track. You'll develop and coach the League Managers who run game days in your district, and you'll be the first call when something needs to get fixed. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES District Execution & League Health Ensure every location in your district consistently meets the Brodie Standard across game flow, staffing, stats, content, and player experience Monitor weekly execution and identify gaps early, stepping in before issues escalate Conduct regular in-person site visits, including multi-day trips (up to 14 consecutive days) to support remote, out-of-market locations League Manager Coaching Develop strong, confident location leaders who can operate independently Act as the first point of support for League Managers Coach leaders through challenges while reinforcing expectations and decision-making, including having direct, honest conversations when performance falls short Standards Compliance & System Adoption Ensure Brodie systems, playbooks, and workflows are followed consistently Hold leaders accountable to SOPs, checklists, key metrics, and operating standards Identify breakdowns and provide field feedback to continuously improve processes New Market Expansion Planning & Launch Support new market launches from planning through execution Support market research including facilities, demographics, and competitive landscape Hire, onboard, and train initial on-site leadership and game-day staff Partner cross-functionally to ensure new markets are fully launch-ready Operations Efficiency & Automation Identify high-friction workflows and improve operational efficiency Partner with teams and Tech to implement automation that reduces errors and admin work Drive adoption of new tools and systems across the district REQUIREMENTS Proven experience directly managing and leading a team, and able to speak to the number of direct reports you've led and how you measured their success Strong leadership skills with a track record of developing, coaching, and holding managers accountable, including having difficult conversations when standards aren't met Comfort building processes and structure from the ground up in a fast-scaling, still-forming environment, rather than operating within an already-established system Proven ability to drive adoption of standardized systems and processes across multiple locations or teams Effective problem-solver who can triage escalations and resolve issues quickly Willingness and ability to travel on short notice, including multi-day trips (up to 14 consecutive days), to support locations outside the GTA Sales or business-development experience is a strong asset Highly organized, accountable, and detail-oriented Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation 5 days in office at our Toronto HQ - Brodie has thrived due to a culture of collaboration and teamwork in office COMPENSATION DISCLOSURE The total target cash compensation for this role is $70,000 - $100,000 CAD. Compensation is based on skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and business needs. The compensation range may be adjusted in the future. WHY JOIN BRODIE LEAGUE Join a fast-growing, entrepreneurial team where your impact is visible from day one Opportunity to shape and scale programs that impact thousands of athletes Comprehensive health and wellness plan Access to a yearly Brodie takeover of the Toronto Raptors court Significant growth and mentorship opportunities Professional development budget Details regarding our full benefits package will be provided during the interview process. ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE DISCLOSURE Artificial intelligence may be used in the recruitment and selection process, including to screen, assess, or evaluate applicants. POSITION STATUS This job posting is for a new position at Brodie League APPLICATION PROCESS Interested candidates should apply by submitting their resume through the designated application platform.
