Role Description The Electrical Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Oakville, ON. The person in this role reviews drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical projects. Day-to-day tasks include performing quantity take-offs, analyzing labor and material requirements, obtaining and evaluating vendor and subcontractor quotes, and preparing detailed bid proposals. The Electrical Estimator collaborates with project managers and field teams to clarify scope, identify risks, and support cost control throughout the project life cycle. This role also involves maintaining estimating databases, updating pricing, and contributing to continuous improvement of estimating processes and standards. Qualifications Ability to perform Electrical Estimating and Cost Control tasks with accuracy and attention to detail. Knowledge of Electrical Contracting practices and familiarity with electricity standards, codes, and regulations. Background in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical experience related to electrical systems. Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital tools used for take-offs and bid preparation. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work with project teams, vendors, and clients. Organizational skills to manage multiple bids, meet deadlines, and maintain thorough documentation. Post-secondary education in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Experience in Canadian electrical construction or contracting environments is an asset. Commitment to safety, integrity, and professional conduct on-site and in all project activities.
