Job Description Senior Analyst, Global Development Location: Toronto, ON or Gatineau, QC Position Summary Reporting to the Vice President, Global Development, the Senior Analyst will be a core member of the Development function within Brookfield’s broader Global Development Team (GDT). This is a project development advisory role, focused on supporting Brookfield’s Asset Management and Investments teams in advancing renewable power and energy transition project development activities. Working through the Asset Management team, the Development function helps strengthen project development and execution capabilities and outcomes across the portfolio. It also provides project development expertise for the Investments team in connection with acquisitions and investments. This is a highly collaborative role that combines advisory support, development pipeline intelligence, project benchmarking, capability building, targeted project problem-solving, and transaction diligence. Responsibilities Development Due Diligence Support the VP, Global Development and Manager, Global Development in development-focused due diligence for the Investments team in connection with acquisitions and investments Assess development pipeline quality, project maturity, schedule realism, development cost, key risks, organizational capability, and the credibility of development plans Coordinate development diligence inputs and workstreams, synthesize findings, and communicate material issues, mitigations, and value-creation opportunities Asset Management Support Support the VP, Global Development to address priority development workstreams, risks, and execution challenges across the asset management portfolio Provide analytical support on development strategy, project prioritization, stage-gate discipline, development planning, and risk mitigation, particularly for newer platforms, new markets, or rapidly scaling businesses. Development Pipeline Reporting Support the Manager, Global Development in owning and continuously improving the global development pipeline reporting process, including data collection, validation, consistency, governance and timely delivery of quarterly and ad hoc reporting Develop concise portfolio-level views and insights that highlight pipeline composition, maturity, movement, key risks, project readiness and emerging areas requiring attention Improve reporting tools, workflows and automation to increase data quality, reduce manual effort and make development insights more decision-useful Strategic Initiatives & Problem Solving Maintain and build upon a practical inventory of project development benchmarks and assumptions across key markets and technologies, including development timelines, DevEx, CapEx and other project-readiness indicators Identify, codify and share development best practices, lessons learned, templates, tools and standards with Asset Management for application across relevant Portfolio Companies, with an emphasis on practical adoption rather than one-size-fits-all processes Lead or support priority development initiatives sponsored by the Vice President, Global Development, from initial problem definition through analysis, stakeholder alignment and implementation Apply emerging technologies and analytical tools, including AI-enabled workflows where appropriate, to improve pipeline analysis, benchmarking, knowledge sharing and team productivity Stakeholder Management Build trusted working relationships with asset management, investment professionals, Global Development Team peers, and other stakeholders across Brookfield’s global footprint Work with the other functions within the Global Development Team, including Procurement, Storage, Markets, Commercial, Key Accounts and Technical, where their expertise is relevant to a Development-led priority Prepare clear, concise materials for senior management discussions, Asset Management engagements, investment processes, quarterly meetings and team forums Knowledge and Experience Required University degree in Business, Finance, Environmental Studies, Engineering or relevant discipline A minimum of three years of relevant work experience, with at least one (1) year in the energy industry, preferably in a project development role Ability to develop and implement processes and reports Understanding of risks and mitigations to deliver projects on time and on budget Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and to adapt quickly to changing priorities Self-motivated and organized, with a high level of initiative & ability to work independently Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present information clearly and effectively Experience in originating, developing, negotiating and/or structuring renewable energy projects would be considered an asset Solid understanding of financial models used in underwriting would be considered an asset Salary Range: $100,000 - $125,000 CAD Position Opening Reason: New Position Brookfield is committed to maintaining a Positive Work Environment that is safe and respectful; our shared success depends on it. Requirements
