Location: Calgary, AB Work Arrangement: Onsite (4 days/week) Contract: July 27, 2026 – July 25, 2027 Hours: 40 hours/week Introduction Brunel is seeking a Cyber IAM Specialist to support a large enterprise cybersecurity initiative on a 12-month contract in Calgary, Alberta. Working onsite four days per week, you will provide Identity and Access Management (IAM) expertise across enterprise projects, helping ensure secure identity governance, access controls, and regulatory compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IAM professional with strong Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID expertise who enjoys partnering with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams on complex enterprise initiatives. Responsibilities Serve as the Identity and Access Management (IAM) subject matter expert across enterprise projects. Review business requirements, solution designs, and application onboarding approaches to ensure alignment with IAM standards, cybersecurity policies, and regulatory requirements. Configure and administer Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including users, groups, roles, enterprise applications, authentication settings, and access assignments. Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft Entra Conditional Access policies, including MFA, device compliance, location-based controls, and privileged access. Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts and automation to support access management, reporting, and administrative activities. Assess access models to ensure least privilege, segregation of duties, privileged access controls, and audit compliance. Identify IAM risks, control gaps, and recommend practical mitigation strategies. Support application onboarding, identity lifecycle management, and access governance initiatives. Collaborate with cybersecurity, architecture, infrastructure, business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams throughout project delivery. Support testing, implementation readiness, documentation, knowledge transfer, and operational handover. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Minimum 7 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years specializing in Identity and Access Management. Hands-on experience administering Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID. Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, RBAC, access governance, privileged access management, and segregation of duties. Experience designing and supporting Microsoft Entra Conditional Access policies. Familiarity with IAM audit requirements and regulatory compliance, including SOX. Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Nice to Have PowerShell scripting and automation experience. Experience onboarding enterprise applications into IAM platforms. Experience working with third-party vendors. Knowledge of ISO 27001, ISF, or similar cybersecurity frameworks. Experience supporting enterprise cybersecurity or identity transformation initiatives.
