Introduction Brunel is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to support the successful delivery of a major capital project in Vancouver or Calgary. Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager, this role will provide technical leadership across all project phases, overseeing multidisciplinary engineering activities, guiding key technical decisions, and ensuring effective coordination between consultants, project stakeholders, operational teams, and site personnel. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining design integrity, managing technical governance and review processes, and driving collaboration across engineering, operations, maintenance, health and safety, and project execution teams. This position offers the opportunity to influence project outcomes from feasibility through execution while contributing to the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of a complex industrial project. Responsibilities Manage and close technical actions arising from consultant issue logs and internal action registers, ensuring clear resolution plans and timely closure. Coordinate engineering activities across multiple consultants to ensure alignment, integration, and effective project execution. Review consultant weekly and monthly reports, identifying and mitigating potential schedule, budget, and technical risks. Lead value engineering and constructability reviews to support safe, efficient, and cost-effective project delivery. Review and approve engineering designs, technical recommendations, and design changes. Interpret design and technical requirements to ensure consistent understanding and implementation across project teams. Support the development of the Engineering Management Plan and feasibility-stage deliverables required to advance the project through subsequent execution phases. Requirements P.Eng. designation (or eligible for registration in BC). 10+ years of engineering and capital project experience within mining, heavy industrial, or major infrastructure environments. Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, EPCM contractors, and engineering consultants on large capital projects. Experience delivering brownfield mining infrastructure projects involving crushers, conveyors, utilities, power distribution, roads, water management systems, pumping systems, or other site infrastructure. Strong understanding of technical reviews, engineering governance, constructability, value engineering, and project risk management. Proven ability to build relationships with Operations, Maintenance, Environmental, Health & Safety, and Project stakeholders while driving alignment across multiple workstreams. Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a proactive approach to issue resolution and project delivery. Owner-side mining project experience and PMP certification are considered assets.
