Our client is seeking a motivated and career-oriented Junior Project Engineer to join the Project Development team at on a one-year term assignment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience supporting mining capital projects in a large-scale operating environment. Working alongside experienced project and engineering professionals, the Junior Project Engineer will support project planning, coordination, execution, and reporting activities while developing a strong foundation in project delivery within the mining industry. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and a desire to build practical engineering experience. Responsibilities Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of capital and sustaining projects. Assist in coordinating engineering, operations, contractors, and other project stakeholders. Help develop project documentation including scopes of work, schedules, reports, and technical documentation. Track project progress and assist with monitoring project budgets, schedules, and deliverables. Participate in project meetings and provide status updates and action item tracking. Review and organize engineering documents, drawings, and technical information. Support field activities and site-based project execution as required. Assist in identifying project risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement. Ensure project activities are completed in accordance with company safety standards and engineering best practices. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities. Requirements Required Undergraduate degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited institution. 1 to 5 years of engineering experience or equivalent internship/co-op experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative team environment. Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Valid driver's license and ability to access mine site locations as required. Preferred Previous mining experience through co-op, internship, or full-time employment. Exposure to project engineering, project coordination, construction, operations, or maintenance environments. Familiarity with project management principles and engineering documentation practices. Personal Attributes Self-motivated and eager to develop professionally. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Adaptable and open to new challenges and learning opportunities. Demonstrates professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.
