Job summary
Introduction Brunel is currently seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join a specialty pharmacy team in Southeast Calgary. This position supports seamless daily operations by managing stock, preparing, and disinfecting compounding components. This position ensures our team can reliably deliver home infusion of parenteral nutrition to patients across the province The successful candidate will work closely with pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure accurate preparation, documentation, and handling of medications while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain training, hands-on experience in specialized pharmacy experience in a non-retail setting with potential for contract extension and future career growth. Contract Details Can start ASAP 3-month full-time contract opportunity Potential for extension based on business needs Hours of Operation Monday to Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Potential shift on Saturday (once a month, to make up for Stat holiday) Responsibilities Maintain inventory of sufficient supplies in dispensary to meet compounding demands. Pick, inspect, verify, and disinfect all components against the order sheet to be used for compounding. Assist in the cleaning of equipment, totes, and work surfaces and maintain facility compliance with ACP and company standards. Maintain and participate in inventory counts Requirements Pharmacy Assistant Certificate or equivalent pharmacy-related education preferred Experience working in a regulated healthcare environment is an asset Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Excellent organizational and time management skills Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Reliable, dependable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team Comfortable working with repetitive tasks requiring a high level of precision Ability to stand for prolonged periods throughout the shift Repetitive use of hands, fingers, wrists, and upper body while preparing and compounding orders Ability to frequently lift and move solution boxes or bins weighing up to 20–30 kg Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail What We Offer Why apply through Brunel?
