Your Daily Contribution & Impact: The Team Leader is responsible for maintaining a high level of service by optimizing the efficiency of our operations and service to our customers. The team leader will be responsible for assisting the supervisor in any area of the business, the planning, coordinating and executing, in a timely manner, the daily activities of the distribution centre and executing programs that ensure the needs of all functions are met (productivity, accuracy, training, safety, security and housekeeping). Your main responsibilities: This position will primarily work with our Outbound Team Plan coordinate and direct team in preparing and loading of customer orders. Work with SAP system to release orders, assign team members to order and ensure all orders are picked in a timely fashion to meet the dispatch time of each type of order. Liaise with facility leadership team to identify barriers, opportunities for improvement and ensure our customer’s needs are met in a cost-effective manner. Work with team members to identify issues that are preventing them from efficiently picking packing and loading of Customer orders and work with them and the supervisors to resolve those issues that can be solved. Participate in the training of new employees and the ongoing training of existing employees to ensure quality and productivity goals are met or exceeded. Act as a leader and as a coach with employees by encouraging continuous improvement and supporting an inclusive work environment. Performs regular duties of a Machine Operator when not performing Team Lead duties. Assist their supervisor with daily tasks as required. Expertise & Essential Skills: Previous work experience in a similar role is a definitive asset. Must be in good physical condition (ability to stand, walk, sit, and handle parts) Must be capable of lift parts up to 50 pounds (23kg) Must be open to working on different shifts and on weekends. Able to lead groups to safely meet production requirements. Able to organize and prioritize work tasks of their own and those they are leading. Ability to adapt and lead in a constantly changing environment. Capacity to work under pressure for meeting customer needs. Strong leadership skills, which include the ability to work efficiently within a multidisciplinary team; Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Possess ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Computer literacy (mandatory) Experience with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) is an asset. SAP experience is preferred. Available on occasion to work outside regular business hours. Organized and self disciplined. Task oriented.
