Accessible and close to multiple transit lines Morning schedule: 8:30 am to 4pm Key Accountability/Responsibilities: • Load, unload and move samples and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment • Operate loaders and other equipment to transport materials to and from transportation vehicles and loading docks • Log and store samples into LIMS as set out in established standard procedures • Ensure all files/boxes/rejects stored at the warehouse are recorded into storage areas for timely retrieval as requested • Respond to client requests for disposal and returns that have passed free storage period and perform quality check to ensure accuracy • Maintain lab requirements of supplies when needed and transport samples/rejects into warehouse storage • Operate and maintain equipment according to written instructions • Comply with all BV policies, occupational safety regulations, laboratory safety procedures, and the requirements of all applicable Quality System SOPs • Act in a safe and professional manner and wear appropriate attire including the required personal protective equipment (PPE) • Interacts with all other essential functions and personnel in BVCC when necessary Other duties as assigned or required from time to time Skills and Knowledge: • Minimum completion of high school education • Forklift driving ticket and hazardous goods handling/transportation an asset – company training will be provided if needed • Must have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License or equivalent • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent organization and time management skills • Keen attention to detail and ability to focus on workplace safety • Safely perform physically demanding tasks with repeated lifting • Ability to handle weights of up to 50 lbs for prolonged periods • Open and inclusive mindset with a willingness to work in a team dynamic Working Conditions: • High level of work production in fast-paced lab environment • Can involve the repetition of the same process • Requires patience, tenacity and persistence • Flexible working hours, overtime and shift work • May involve long periods of standing • Some lifting and carrying (up to 10kg) • Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate equipment The salary for this role is $20.51. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,  experience, and market location.
