Job summary

We are looking for an Injection Molding Technician to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on role is responsible for setting up, operating, and optimizing injection molding machines to ensure the consistent production of high-quality parts. The successful candidate will perform mold changes, monitor production processes, troubleshoot equipment and process issues, and carry out routine maintenance to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Working closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams, the Injection Molding Technician plays a key role in supporting safe, reliable, and productive manufacturing operations. Availability: This position is open and accepting applications Shift: Monday- Friday | 2:00pm-10:00pm. The position we are hiring is for the afternoon shift, although the first few weeks of training will take place from 8:00am - 4:30pm. Who are we? Birthday gift Key Responsibilities Evaluate, maintain, repair and assemble molds Safely rig and operate an overhead hoist Set up and run Engel E-Victory machines with electrical/hydraulic drives (55 -130 tons) Set up and run Engel rotary machines with 1600mm turntable (160 tons) Setup and run Arburg Allrounder 570A machine Set up and run Yaskawa 6-axis robots Quality verification and documentation (1st article and in process inspections) of parts produced using various metrological instruments and parts specifications Set up molding equipment / production line following proper set up procedures Run production Verify and maintain molds / tooling condition Monitor mold / tooling usage for wear and tear Maintain molds / tooling Maintain equipment by performing scheduled PM’s Perform major conversions of molding production lines and repairs of mechanical equipment Test run new molds and peripheral equipment Quality inspection: Perform 1st article inspections and in process measurements to the procedures Education & Professional Experience Required 5+ years of injection molding experience, preferably in automotive industry Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems/peripheral automated production equipment Knowledge of AQMS IATF 16949 Skills and Abilities Comfortable and confident operating hand tools, power tools, and machinery. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to spot defects and inconsistencies. Solid technical aptitude with strong manual dexterity for precise assembly work. Team player who values communication and collaboration. Knowledge of all toolroom equipment Fundamental knowledge of metallurgy and material science Basic understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics Basic understanding of mechanical components (incl. assembly and maintenance specifications Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions Results-oriented, resourceful and proactive attitude Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; German considered an asset. Physical Demands Prolonged periods of standing at a work station, ergonomic mats supplied where applicable. Frequent use of hands, fingers, and arms for repetitive tasks, including assembly, handling, and operation of tools or equipment. Frequent hand-eye coordination for precise placement and manipulation of components. Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving of materials and products, typically up to 35 lbs, depending on task requirements. Frequent bending, reaching, or twisting as needed to perform assigned tasks. Moderate back and shoulder movement including static flexion and rotation. Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail to ensure quality and safety. Occasional exposure to noise, vibration, and varying temperatures consistent with production operations. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures at all times Health and Safety Responsibility Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company safety policies and procedures. Wear required PPE at all times. Report hazards, injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately. Use equipment, machinery, and tools safely and do not bypass safety devices. Follow all machine guarding and lockout/tagout procedures where applicable. Maintain a clean and safe work environment (good housekeeping). Participate in required safety training and meetings. Follow all ESD requirements and wear CSA-approved footwear. Adhere to emergency procedures and report incidents promptly. Exercise the right to refuse unsafe work when appropriate.
