Application Solutions Consultant Remote / Hybrid Assignment Details Category of Service: Application Solutions Consultant Start Date: October 26, 2026 End Date: January 25, 2028 Incumbent: None Work Arrangement & Location Work Arrangement: Remote or Hybrid. Onsite Location: 414 Osborne Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Orientation: Candidates will be required to work onsite during the first week for orientation. Onsite Transportation & Parking: Candidates must arrange and cover their own transportation and parking when working at a City location. Duration: Throughout the engagement, subject to the terms of the contract. Project Overview The Client requires an Application Solutions Consultant to support the Transit IT division with application support for its new ICIP project, ClearCom (Bus Radio and ITS Replacement). The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Project Leader and contribute to software engineering, application development, integration, and support activities. The Innovation and Technology Department reserves the right to award any future phases of work to the selected candidate(s) from the selected vendor. Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Project Leader, the Application Solutions Consultant will: Develop detailed work plans for Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities to ensure completion within the specified project timeline and budget. Participate in the full software engineering lifecycle, including: Requirements gathering Solution design Source code implementation Unit testing Integration testing System testing Collaborate with Solution Designers and Software Developers to ensure the complete solution meets performance and reliability requirements. Participate in code reviews to improve software quality, maintainability, and compliance. Required Experience Full Stack Software Development 8+ years of senior full stack software development experience. Strong experience with React, including MUI (Material UI). Strong experience with Node.js. Experience building large-scale applications with complex API and data integration. Experience with Ruby on Rails and Go is considered an asset. UI/UX & Front-End Development Strong UI/UX and front-end development skills. Experience with component architecture. Experience implementing responsive user interfaces. Ability to translate design specifications into polished, user-friendly interfaces. Database Experience 7+ years of experience with relational databases such as: PostgreSQL Oracle MySQL Messaging & Integration Must have experience with Kafka in complex applications. Skills & Depth Solid programming skills with the ability to write structured, readable, and efficient code. Ability to rapidly prototype, implement, and debug solutions to complex problems. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to respond effectively to changing priorities and circumstances. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.

Requirements
