Job details
Pensions Analyst / Senior Pensions Administrator If you’ve spent the last few years in pensions administration and you’re starting to think, “I’m ready for something a bit more interesting than this”, this could be worth a look. BWD is working with a growing pensions business that is looking for someone with solid pensions administration experience to join its team in a broader, more technical role. This isn’t about sitting in a queue processing the same cases every day. You’ll get involved in more complex calculations, checking, problem-solving and technical pension work, while continuing to build the kind of experience that can open up much more senior opportunities later on. What will you actually be doing? A mix of things, including: Working on defined benefit pension plans Completing pension calculations and more complex member cases Checking and reviewing calculations Investigating tricky queries rather than simply passing them on Supporting pension projects and one-off pieces of work Working closely with experienced colleagues across the wider pensions team Building your technical knowledge and gradually taking on more responsibility In short, it’s a role for someone who enjoys pensions but wants a bit more depth, variety and challenge. Who would suit it? You don’t need to know absolutely everything. What matters more is that you have: Good defined benefit pensions experience A decent understanding of pension calculations Strong attention to detail Confidence dealing with member and plan queries A willingness to learn An interest in becoming more technically capable If you’ve had exposure to manual calculations, checking work or more complex pension cases, even better. Why consider it? Because not everyone wants to stay in traditional pensions administration forever. This gives you the chance to use the knowledge you’ve already built, move into more interesting work and develop a stronger technical skillset without having to completely change career direction. There is good progression available, plenty to learn and a supportive team around you. If you’re a pensions administrator or senior pensions administrator wondering what your next move could look like, get in touch with BWD and we can tell you more.
