Job summary
You will support point-of-care staff in the implementation and evaluation of best practices in the care of clients with psychiatric illnesses, concurrent substance use, and forensic histories. You will have extensive knowledge of forensic mental health including assessment of risk and risk management practice. You will role model clinical practice in complex care situations; engage in direct care activities for complex and high-risk clients; support interprofessional collaborative care, academic and research opportunities; promote the implementation and audit of documentation standards; participate in or facilitate quality improvement projects and quality reviews focusing on patient safety. You will provide clinical supervision to staff as well as mentor/supervise graduate students. Together with Forensic Service leadership, you will contribute to model of care development, support implementation of new care pathways to advance patient outcomes, and contribute to program evaluation. You will participate on internal and external committees; and serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert in program-level and work closely with the Professional Practice Office on organizational-level strategic planning and projects to advance clinical practice activities for both Forensic inpatient and outpatient services. Requirements
Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in Nursing and be in good standing with their regulatory body. A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in forensic mental health and addiction treatment is required.
