Job summary
CAMH is seeking an accomplished and visionary leader to serve as full-time, permanent Director, Industry Partnerships and Technology Transfer (IPTTO). Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Research & Science, the Director will lead the strategic evolution of CAMH's research commercialization and innovation agenda. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape how groundbreaking mental health discoveries move beyond the laboratory to create meaningful impact for patients, the health system and society. The Director provides leadership for CAMH's Industry Partnerships and Technology Transfer Office, developing and implementing the research institute’s commercialization strategy while cultivating a culture of innovation, entrepreneurship and strategic partnership across the research enterprise. Working closely with scientists, executive leadership, legal counsel, research finance, government agencies, investors and global industry partners, the Director will position CAMH as a leader in translating research discoveries into real-world solutions through licensing, venture creation, strategic collaborations and commercialization. This role requires a strategic thinker with demonstrated success navigating the intersection of science, intellectual property, business development and investment, and someone who thrives building partnerships that accelerate innovation while advancing CAMH's mission to improve mental health care worldwide. What you’ll do

They will cultivate strategic partnerships and translate groundbreaking mental health discoveries into real-world solutions through licensing, venture creation, and commercialization.
Requirements
The ideal candidate possesses an advanced degree in Life Sciences, with a PhD or MBA strongly preferred, and extensive leadership experience in technology transfer or business development. They must demonstrate expertise in intellectual property strategy, complex agreement negotiation, and the ability to influence diverse internal and external stakeholders.
