CAMH’s Nursing Innovation & Transition Program is recruiting newly-graduated Registered Practical Nurses to join our team as part of the Nursing Graduate Guarantee Initiative. Our team is well-equipped to support your learning and development during your robust 12 weeks residency on one unit with further support in transitioning to nursing roles within CAMH post-residency. At this time, we are recruiting exclusively for our Medical Withdrawal Services program. This is a fast-paced unit specializing in addiction services, that offers a rare opportunity for new graduate nurses to be considered for Full-Time and Part-Time permanent employment post-NGG. Interested candidates do not need addictions or mental health experience to apply, instead they must demonstrate the interest and aptitude for this clinical setting. What you’ll do
The Registered Practical Nurse will provide clinical care within the Medical Withdrawal Services program as part of a 12-week residency. They will collaborate with an interprofessional team to support patient transitions and contribute to the hospital's mission of mental health and addiction recovery.
Requirements
Candidates must be newly-graduated nurses eligible for the Nursing Graduate Guarantee Initiative and hold current CNO registration or temporary class licensure. Applicants are required to have current CPR/BCLS certification and demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills.
