Career Opportunity (Owner Operator) Position Summary Position Title: Class 1 Truck Driver Location (Start Point): Surrey, BC Delivery Area: Surrey-Kelowna-Osoyoos-Surrey and Surrey-Trail-Surrey Employment Type: Full-Time Shift Schedule: Overnight Runs Start Time: 7:00 PM We are seeking dependable, safety-focused, and customer-oriented Owner Operator to join our growing transportation team. This role is ideal for professionals who take pride in their work, consistently deliver high-quality service, and can operate safely and professionally in a fast-paced environment while representing the company. Responsibilities Safely operate vehicles to transport freight across city routes and regional lanes Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within BC in a safe, timely, and professional manner Operate tractor-trailer equipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements Secure freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and load bars, ensuring compliance with load-securement standards Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement; promptly report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs. Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required Core Requirements Valid Class 1 driver's license Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada Clean CVOR and driver’s abstract Verifiable recent commercial driving experience (within the past 3 months to 1 year) Required Sleeper Truck: should not be older than 6 years Open to drive at night Strong understanding of road safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement Experience operating commercial vehicles in winter driving conditions Ability to accurately complete eLogs, vehicle inspection reports, and delivery documentation Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, safety-focused approach Role-Specific Requirements Class 1 / AZ Drivers Minimum 1year of verifiable Class 1 / AZ driving experience Why Work for Canada Cartage?
