Responsibilities Safely operate company vehicles to transport freight across city and regional routes Complete deliveries and pickups to customer locations within Calgary in a safe, timely, and professional manner Operate tractor-trailer, dry van, reefer equipment in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements Secure freight using appropriate equipment such as straps, chains, and load bars, ensuring compliance with load-securement standards Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections of the vehicle, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and cargo securement; promptly report any issues to the maintenance department for timely repairs. Accurately complete all required documentation, including e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork, and incident reports Maintain compliance with hours-of-service regulations, safety policies, and company procedures Maintain flexibility to meet operational and customer demands, including variable schedules, overtime, weekends, or overnight runs as required Core Requirements Valid Class 1 driver's license (manual transmission will be an assest) Clean 5 years Commercial driving abstract (no more than 3 demerits and 3 negative events) Must have excellent communication and customer service skills Comfortable with smartphone technology Reliable, flexible, punctual and safe driving behaviors Bondable and legally eligible to work in Canada Strong understanding of road safety regulations, hours of service, and load securement Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, safety-focused approach Role-Specific Requirements Class 1 Truck Driver Minimum 1 year of verifiable Class 1 driving experience Required Physical Requirements Ability to safely perform hand-bombing, including manual loading and unloading of freight, as required Why Work for Canada Cartage?
