Canada Diagnostic Center (CDC) is inviting applications for one part-time clinical sub-specialist position in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) to our community-based Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic in Calgary, Alberta, a vibrant quickly growing city close to Banff and the Rocky Mountains with affordable housing and excellent international air service. The CDC Maternal Fetal Medicine unit is an integrated outpatient consultative and ultrasound program which offers care to patients in Calgary through our Pacific Place clinic. The CDC MFM service is led by our Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists and focuses on fetal diagnosis, assessment, and surveillance via specialized MFM ultrasounds as well as planning assessment and management of complicated pregnancies in collaboration with obstetricians, radiologists, family physicians, midwives, prenatal genetics, pediatric surgeons, pediatric urologists, neonatologists, and other specialties. Care is provided to patients in a collaborative and patient focused model with experienced registered nurses and diagnostic medical sonographers. We have an immediate need for an MFM specialist one day per week in this setting. We would like to grow the practice further with the successful applicant. What You’ll Be Doing Ultrasound diagnosis Ultrasound fetal assessment Fetal surveillance Assessment of complicated pregnancies Work in collaboration with obstetricians, family physicians, radiologists, midwives, prenatal genetics, pediatric surgeons, pediatric urologists, neonatologists, and other providers Sonographer, radiologists, and/or resident education What We’re Looking For Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology with the Royal College of Physicians of Canada Applicable Subspecialty Certification with the Royal College in Maternal Fetal Medicine Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta Strong ultrasound skills expected. What We Offer One day per week flexibility to start with (open to increase) Outpatient clinic based: no weekends or nights No on-call work Flexible start date Flexible vacation Remuneration for this position is provided as a fixed percentage of your fee for service billing. Candidates must hold certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and subspecialty certification in Maternal Fetal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians of Canada. Additionally, they must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
