The Storesperson position is located in Meaford at the Army Training Centre - Central and typically reports directly to the Stores Supervisor. The primary duties of a Storesperson are to work in the main warehouse securing and accounting for various items of clothing and equipment; including issuing and exchanging items and completing stock checks and counts. Compensation, Benefits, And Perks Hourly wage - $20.00 - $22.79 Regular daytime hours, Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm Company pension program Company paid health & dental Employee referral program Starting with three (3) weeks of paid vacation Paid personal days Employer-paid training and development Duties And Responsibilities Receiving as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); ensuring items are adequate Pick items to be issued, transmit issues, notifying customers and liaison with Inventory Control Review stock inventory and quality Issue clean and serviceable stock Respond to customer requests Assist customer with the loading of bulky stock Process receipts, exchanges, returns Accept stock returned; confirming serviceability of items or initiating repairs Perform other duties as required Follows all Health and Safety requirements including wearing all mandatory personal protective equipment and participating the any Health and Safety training that is required Competency Requirements Communicates Effectively Customer Focus Holds Self and Others Accountable Teamwork and Collaboration Values and Respects Others Education Requirements High school Diploma or equivalent The Following Certifications/designations Are Considered An Asset Knowledge of DND policies and procedures Work Experience Requirements 2 or more years’ experience in the following would be considered an asset: SAP experience Forklift operation Pallet jackets Carts 3 ton truck Skills, Abilities, And Other Requirements Proficient knowledge and understanding of: Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Teams Effective written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and with minimal direction Must possess serviceable steel toe safety boots that meet standards for workplace safety *Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance* Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance- continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years is a mandatory requirement.* APPLY TODAY! Requirements
Candidates must have a high school diploma and be able to obtain a Government of Canada Secret Security Clearance, requiring 10 years of continuous Canadian residency. Experience with SAP, forklift operation, and Microsoft Office is considered an asset.
