THE ROLE As a Department Supervisor, you provide retail services to a unique client base - members of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and in assisting them, you are helping your community. You plan the department’s layout, shelf arrangement, signs, and displays all while ordering merchandise to ensure shelves are well stocked and meet customer requirements. You verify the integrity of inventory on a regular basis, prepare purchase orders and deal with suppliers and vendors. You supervise employees and deal with customer concerns or complaints to ensure customer satisfaction. The Department Supervisor may also provide a variety of other retail services, including regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery services, self-serve gas services, and postal services. You will operate Point of Sales systems, the debit/credit machine, and maintain a float. You may take and prepare food and beverage orders and prepare takeout food, while ensuring cleanliness of food service and eating areas.
