Role Description The Plumber role at Canadian Home Comfort is a contract, on-site position based in Hamilton, ON. In this role, the plumber installs, maintains, and repairs residential plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing plumbing issues, performing routine and emergency repairs, conducting inspections to ensure compliance with local codes, and documenting work performed. The plumber interacts with customers on-site, explaining recommended solutions, providing accurate estimates, and ensuring a clean and safe work area upon completion. This position requires a focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a small team. Qualifications Strong plumbing skills, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair of residential systems Experience working with various pipe materials and fittings, including cutting, joining, and testing Proficiency in maintenance and repair, including preventative maintenance and diagnosing system issues Ability to deliver professional customer service, including clear communication and respectful interaction in customers’ homes Valid plumbing trade certification or license appropriate to Ontario regulations Knowledge of local building codes, safety standards, and best practices Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites in Hamilton, ON Capability to perform the physical requirements of the role, such as lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces Previous residential plumbing experience is strongly preferred
