Performing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and commissioning activities on piping systems and associated equipment to support site infrastructure and operational facilities. Constructing, fabricating, installing, and modifying piping systems and associated mechanical equipment. Conducting decommissioning activities, including safely removing piping, equipment, and associated hazards. Reading and interpreting drawings, work packages, and technical reference materials to ensure work is completed in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and CNL requirements. Following maintenance records, route sheets, and quality control requirements while accurately completing required documentation. Maintaining safe work practices, housekeeping standards, tools, and equipment while supporting a safe and efficient work environment. Attending safety meetings, reporting safety concerns, and applying event-free work practices throughout assigned activities. Assisting with training, coaching, and mentoring apprentices and trainees by demonstrating safe work methods and procedures. Other duties as assigned by your manager. What We Are Looking For Education Secondary school graduation diploma. Qualification as a Plumber/Steamfitter, typically acquired through completion of a 9,000-hour apprenticeship program or equivalent. Experience Experience performing construction, installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities on piping systems and associated mechanical equipment. Experience interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and work packages within an industrial environment. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including Canadian Standards Act B51.1, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) requirements. Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing while working with multi-trade teams and diverse stakeholders. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and parts lists to execute work accurately and efficiently. Skilled in operating standard shop tools, hand tools, portable power tools, calibration equipment, and machine tools safely and effectively. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment and identify practical solutions while maintaining compliance with applicable standards. Security Clearance Eligibility Required Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.” Working Conditions Working schedule: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week. This position is part of th e M&E Union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the M&E Collecti ve Agreement.
