Practice / Fellowship Opportunities > PEDIATRIC PLASTIC SURGEON - ALBERTA CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL PEDIATRIC PLASTIC SURGEON - ALBERTA CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL Category: Physician Province: Calgary, Alberta Position: PEDIATRIC PLASTIC SURGEON Deadline: November 30, 2026 Posted: October 5, 2026 Job Description / Duties The Department of Surgery, Alberta Health Services – Calgary Zone and the University of Calgary invite applications for the position of Pediatric Plastic Surgeon at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, starting in the spring of 2027. The successful candidate will become a member of both the Sections of Pediatric Surgery and Plastic Surgery and will work in a collaborative model to advance patient care and quality improvement. Clinical duties will include providing pediatric plastic surgery patient care to the community of Calgary and surrounding areas. Call will be according to the site and Alberta Health Services policies, with call including all aspects of pediatric plastic surgery trauma. Appointment to the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary will be expected. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and academic credentials. Teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level will be required. Participation in research related to clinical outcomes or medical education is expected. Committee duties will be expected as the need arises. Qualifications / Required Skills Qualifications include an MD, completion of a plastic surgery residency program, certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) in plastic surgery, and fellowship training in pediatric plastic surgery. The successful candidate must display experience in the care of patients with cleft, congenital hand, and vascular anomalies. Applicants must be eligible for independent practice licensure in the province of Alberta. Special consideration may be given to candidates with interest in medical education, surgical simulation training, and surgeon wellness. Remuneration will be a fee-for-service model or a clinical alternative relationship plan, at the discretion of the surgeon. The successful candidate will be expected to be a full-time pediatric surgeon (1.0 FTE). In accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada.
