Role Description The Journeyman Pipefitter is a full-time, on-site role based in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. This role is responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems in industrial environments, following drawings, specifications, and applicable codes. Day-to-day tasks include measuring and cutting pipe, fitting and aligning components, performing test fits and pressure tests, and working closely with welders and other trades to ensure high-quality, leak-free systems. The Journeyman Pipefitter will inspect existing piping for wear or damage, support turnaround and maintenance activities, and contribute to safe work practices, including participation in toolbox meetings and adherence to company and regulatory safety standards. The role may also involve mentoring apprentices, maintaining organized work areas, and coordinating with supervisors to meet project timelines and quality expectations. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in pipe installation, pipe layout, and pipefitting for industrial applications. Candidates should possess skills in welding processes relevant to pipefitting, including basic welding techniques and TIG welding. Candidates should possess experience working with steam and other pressurized systems, including safe handling and testing procedures. Journeyperson Pipefitter certification (or Red Seal equivalent) and demonstrated experience in industrial or energy sector projects. Solid understanding of applicable codes, standards, and safety regulations, including PPE use and safe work practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, and technical specifications with strong attention to detail. Physical ability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, working at heights, and extended periods on tools. Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with supervisors, welders, and other trades. Valid safety certifications such as CSTS, WHMIS, and confined space or fall protection are considered assets.
