Job summary

Capco is seeking an experienced Python Developer to join our Technology & Engineering practice in Toronto on a contract basis (4 days per week). This is an existing vacancy supporting the delivery of innovative technology solutions for leading financial services clients. You will play a key role in designing and developing scalable backend Python applications while leveraging AI technologies. Prompt Engineering is a core requirement for this role, and you will work extensively with Generative AI techniques to build intelligent, production-ready solutions for our clients. What You'll Do Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and modern software engineering best practices. Develop and optimize prompts using Generative AI prompt engineering techniques to support enterprise AI solutions. Build and integrate APIs and backend services that enable AI-powered applications. Collaborate with architects, data specialists, and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality technical solutions. Contribute to technical design, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. What We're Looking For Strong commercial experience developing backend applications using Python. Hands-on experience with Prompt Engineering, including Generative AI prompt engineering techniques (essential). Experience working with AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI solutions. Experience building RESTful APIs and scalable backend architectures. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within Agile delivery teams. Bonus Points For Experience within financial services or consulting environments. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
