Weekly performance-based bonuses, not guaranteed Language: Fluent English About the internship Caprae's Buyside Internship gives you a practical view of how lower-middle-market deals come together. You work on real situations and learn what motivates business owners, what buyers need and how a deal is structured. The first weeks focus on conversations with founders and owners. From about week four, you can start supporting live deals and learning valuation logic, deal structure and how an entrepreneurship through acquisition (ETA) transaction is sequenced. Responsibilities Start conversations with business owners and executives to understand their businesses and goals (outbound outreach is part of the role) Understand seller motivations and buyer constraints Judge whether a business is a good fit and ready for a deal Help shape deal structures for lower-middle-market companies using what you learn Support live buyer and seller interactions as you progress Write up conversation notes and draft next steps and negotiation plans Get hands-on with earnouts, seller financing, rollover equity, and reps and warranties See what kills deals, what revives them, and how a deal's pacing unfolds Compensation There is no base pay. This is an unpaid, part-time internship of 10 to 12 hours per week over 3 months. You can earn weekly performance-based bonuses, which are not guaranteed. Interns who join the deal team and manage deal flow can earn up to 20% of Caprae's success fee, and several have built a potential bonus pool of $50K+. This is performance-based and not guaranteed. Progression After one month, interns with strong performance can collaborate with the deal and research teams. Caprae prefers to hire full-time staff from this program, and converted three interns to full-time roles in 2025.
